I LIKE BATS 1986
Absurdist black comedy and old-school gothic horror combine in this slyly contemporary take on the female bloodsucker mythos. Katarzyna Walter stars as Izabella, a happily single young vampire who spends her time working in her aunt’s antique shop when she’s not feeding on assorted suitors and sleazebags. But when she falls for a handsome psychiatrist, she discovers that no affliction is more horrific than love. Directed and co-written by the Polish actor Grzegorz Warchol and feminist activist Krystyna Kofta and featuring poet and songwriter Jonas Kofta in his sole film role, I LIKE BATS has been newly restored in 2K by Severin Films from the only known 35mm print in existence.
