SENSITIVE & DIFFICULT CONTENT
Movies are most often a reflection of the social and cultural climate and norms at the time of their creation. As The Dreamland is primarily a repertory cinema, we will screen movies from throughout the history of film, which means there may be problematic representations of race, homophobic stereotypes, sexual violence, or other depictions that are troubling, insensitive, or unsavory. In other words, our programming may sometimes contain content that could be viewed as controversial or offensive when viewed through a modern lens.
We encourage you to research any film you may be interested in on IMDB or other websites that provide details on potentially difficult, sensitive, or triggering content.
After searching for the film's title on IMDB and clicking into its page, click on “Parents Guide” (found in the Storyline section) which includes information on all kinds of content.
Other resources include unconsentingmedia.org, and doesthedogdie.com.
The Dreamland Cinema opens 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the show. Tickets can be purchased from the on-site box office from the time doors open up until 10 minutes past the scheduled start time. Advanced tickets are recommended as capacity is limited.
All ticket sales are final, and cannot be cancelled or exchanged, although you can transfer your tickets for use by a friend if your plans change. No refunds.
RUN OF SHOW
The auditorium opens 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of the show where in you will be able to choose your seat and enjoy a pre-show featuring short films, music videos, and other content sometimes related to the feature film. Films typically begin 5-10 minutes after the published start time, so please be early or on-time to ensure you do not miss the start of the movie.
Are you a distributor or who would like to book your film at The Dreamland? Would you like to host a private film event at our theater? Have questions about our space, operations, or events? Drop us a line.
We periodically host open projector nights for local filmmakers to screen their feature-length projects. Check out Open Projector Nights on the series page.
